Plan of Study

80/20 Perinatal & Newborn Nursing Program

This sponsored (80% practice/20% program) study option is designed for nurses currently working with perinatal populations at Nova Scotia Health and allows for work-life balance and autonomy in learning. Online, asynchronous, independent study is supplemented with skills, simulations, and preceptorship/mentorship in the clinical setting. 

The program contains 96 hours of knowledge, 48 hours of skills and simulations, and 144 hours of clinical.

• Eastern Zone - Session 1 October 22^nd & 23^rd 2026, session 2 December 3^rd & 4^th 2026, session 3 February 8^th & 9^th 2027
• Northern Zone - Session 1 October 13^th & 14^th 2026, session 2 November 30^th & December 1^st 2026, session 3 February 2^nd & 3^rd 2027
