Overview

This orientation is designed to provide an overview of the Canadian health care system. It introduces concepts, issues, and practices that are relevant for health care providers in Canada. Particular attention will be given to exploring the concepts of health, health promotion, disease prevention, primary health care, population health, collaborative practice, cultural sensitivity, patient-centred care, trauma-informed care, palliative care, patient safety / harm reduction, and Indigenous health.

  • Health care providers who have been educated outside of Canada
