Overview
Anesthesia technicians (ATs) are unregulated care providers who perform essential technical duties in the operating room under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist. The Anesthesia Technician Program (ATP) equips ATs for practice by developing the knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies required to support the safe delivery of anesthesia care.
This competency-based program provides a foundational understanding of the perioperative environment, anesthesia equipment and technology, and effective interprofessional collaboration. The program is designed to ensure learners are equipped to contribute to high-quality, safe, effective, and person-centered care.

The program is currently offered to learners within the Central and Eastern Zones.
- Completion of a Grade 12 diploma
