Overview

The Pediatric Program delivers the foundational knowledge and skills required for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to work in the pediatric environment. The program supports RNs and LPNs to advance their clinical judgment, critical thinking, and clinical leadership to work collaboratively with the interprofessional team. Whether you are a new graduate, new hire, or are very experienced in this environment, this program will enhance your understanding of theoretical concepts and best practice guidelines.

This program is designed using the academic content of Pediatric Learning Solutions (PLS), which provides online theoretical courseware targeted to the competencies and skills clinicians need to deliver safe and effective care to the pediatric patient. Addressing gaps in pediatric nurse education, these interactive courses include patient scenarios and job aids that promote effective transition to practice. The course content is delivered online via LMS modules with links to Nova Scotia Health policies, such as CHEWS, Canadian Pediatric Society documents and guidelines, TREKK Ped Packs, and IWK learning modules.

Requirements
