Pediatric Emergency Nursing Program

This sponsored study option is designed for nurses currently working with pediatric emergency populations at Nova Scotia Health/IWK Health and allows for work-life balance and autonomy in learning. Online, asynchronous, independent study is supplemented with skills, simulations, and preceptorship/mentorship in the clinical setting.

The program contains 150 hours of knowledge, 72 hours of skills & simulations and 144 hours of clinical.

Phase I:  Foundations & Respiratory content, skills and simulation labs
Phase II:  Cardiac content, skills and simulation lab
Phase III:  Neurological, Shock, Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary content, skills and simulation labs
Phase IV:  Trauma content, skills and simulation lab
Phase V: Developmental Content skills and simulation lab
Phase VI: OSCE skills labs
Phase VII:  Clinical experiences
