Lisa Adams

Lisa joined the administrative team at the Learning Institute in 2021. She enjoys working as a Program Secretary supporting the Critical Care Nursing Program, the Leadership in Long Term Care Program, the Critical Care Paramedic Program, and the Simulation Learning team. She graduated with honours in 2020 from the Medical Office Administration Program at NSCC-IT campus. Melissa Salah, BA

Melissa is a first generation Canadian who grew up in Halifax. Throughout her life, she has been actively involved in several cultural organizations within her community, as well as with the Multicultural Association of Nova Scotia. As the daughter of immigrants, she understands first-hand the many challenges facing IENs as they work towards settling in Nova Scotia and gaining licensure to work as nurses in our province.

Melissa has a BA in Sociology and Social Anthropology (2007) from Dalhousie University, and has made a career of client service and program delivery within the provincial public service. She has been the Program Administration Officer for the RN Bridging/Re-Entry Program at the Learning Institute since September 2018.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys reading, watching movies, and travelling to as many new places as she can (when COVID doesn’t get in the way!).
