Julianne Steeves, BJ Hons, LIT

Julianne earned a Bachelor of Journalism (2017) from the University of King’s College and a diploma in Library and Information Technology (2021) from NSCC. In between schooling, she worked in hospitality. She started her information management career working in academic libraries before joining Nova Scotia Health’s Library Services in 2023.

She joined the Learning Institute in 2024 as a Content Development Advisor with the Online Learning team. She’s interested in accessibility, editorial work, and wrangling information management systems. She’s excited to be part of the Learning Institute as it expands and evolves.

Julianne lives in south end Halifax with her partner Joel, her cats Otis and Charlie, and an unreasonable number of knick-knacks. At home, she’s experimenting in the kitchen, soaking up sun on her deck, and watching a delicate balance of serious and silly TV shows. When she ventures out, she’s going to farmers’ markets, playing arcade games, seeing live music, and taking leisurely strolls around town.
