Overview

The Suicide Risk Assessment and Intervention Interprofessional Program (SRAI) welcomes health professionals from a variety of disciplines and health care settings who are responsible for the independent practice of mental health and addictions assessments, treatment planning, and discharge from acute, crisis, community, and rehabilitation settings. The richness in learning comes from the diversity of experiences and perspectives of the Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Counselling Therapists, as well as other self-regulated health care providers who take part in the program together.

This performance-based program prepares health care providers to perform suicide risk assessments and provide effective interventions in their clinical settings with individuals who are at risk.

Requirements

  • Regulated health care providers* whose scope of practice includes suicide risk assessments and interventions (*LPNs are not eligible)
  • Employed in a role responsible for the independent practice of mental health and addiction assessments, treatment planning, and discharge from acute, crisis, community, and rehabilitation settings
  • Sponsored and supported by current manager
