Family Practice Nursing Education Program Faculty

Emilie O'Regan Martens, MN, RN

Emilie joined the Learning Institute team in 2019 as faculty with the Family Practice Nursing Education Program (FPNEP). Emilie holds both a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education (’97) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (’05) from St.FX University, and a Master of Nursing (’22) from Dalhousie University. Emilie began her nursing career on the Birth Unit at the IWK Health Center, followed by a move to public health nursing. From 2013-2017, Emilie worked on the development of a French-language practical nursing program at Université Sainte-Anne. Emilie is delighted to combine her passions for education and nursing into her role with the FPNEP.

Tanya Magee, BN, RN

As faculty in our Family Practice Nursing Education Program, Tanya shares her passion for the role of the registered nurse in primary care, and her commitment to excellence in practice.

A graduate of Dalhousie University, Tanya has extensive experience in a variety of clinical settings including multiple family practice settings. She is a strong advocate for nursing education, collaborative practice, patients, and their families.

When not focusing on her professional responsibilities, Tanya likes to spend time with her family, gardening, and reading.
